Getting to Tinos

Tinos is the third largest island of the Cyclades and not too far from Athens. Therefore, there are frequent daily ferry routes (unfortunately, there is no airport on the island, but a heliport, for urgent transportations).

One can arrive in Tinos departing either from the port of Piraeus or the one of Rafina, travelling by conventional ferries or high-speed vessels. Here are some valid itineraries:

Piraeus a Tinos: Conventional ferry  4h:30m, 32€/person (Blue Star Ferries)

Piraeus a Tinos: Superjet 2h:15m,  50€/person (Sea Jets)

Rafina a Tinos: Conventional ferry  3h:45m, 27€/person (Golden Star Ferries , Fast Ferries)

There are also connections between Tinos and neighboring islands, such as Syros, Mykonos, Andros, Kythnos, Kea. Moving around in Tinos, if you don’t own a car, can be done if you rent one! At the Port (Chora) there are several offices where you can rent a car or a motorbike.

Otherwise, you can be transported by taxi or bus. As for the latter, it is a very cheap solution, but has the drawback of very limited daily bus itineraries.
If you opt for a taxi – there are plenty on the island – you will find one at the port, at the taxi stand situated on Trion Ierarchon str., next to the National Bank. If you are somewhere else on the island, you can call the Radio-Taxi service at 22830-22470 (operates from 07.00 am to 02:00 am) .
